13 May 2010“Familiar Places” by local painter Katherine Duncan
Katherine Duncan paints her favorite places. Line, colour and contrast are characteristic of her compositions. Her images are informed by what she has seen, though her intention is to represent the atmosphere of a space rather than its physicality. Consequently, her landscapes are often minimalist in subject; and in colour too – “a dust covered patch to the right, and beyond that hills of unfolding green”.
