What is the Farsite Gallery?
Farsite Gallery is a community art gallery run by Hutt Valley Community Arts (HVCA).
Our services include:
- a Petone-based art gallery providing a variety of exhibition opportunities for local visual and craft artists.
- monthly artist forums offering advice and networking opportunities
- promotional opportunities for local artists
- community art projects in and for Lower Hutt
We exhibit the work of individuals and groups in our community and welcome emerging and outsider artists, as well as more established artists.
Exhibiting at Farsite
The Gallery Space
We have two gallery rooms for hire:
- The “Front Gallery” which faces down Doreen Doolan Mall to Jackson Street. This is the larger gallery and is dedicated to exhibition space.
- The “Back Gallery”. The wall space in this room is complemented by our Craft Gallery which also occupies this space.
Hireage Fees
Front Gallery
$300 plus 25% commission for a three-week period.
Back Gallery
$200 plus 25% commission for a three-week period.
Wall Hire
Prices start at $150 for three weeks, depending on the wall size, plus 25% commission.
Rent a Space
$10 per artwork per week (minimum
