Dedicated to Life
“Dedicated to Life” is an exhibition of paintings by Lower Hutt artist Stella Enting.
Stella has always enjoyed drawing and painting and this was fostered when she attended the Rudolf Steiner School in Lower Hutt for 12 years. Here she developed a deep appreciation for colour and form, and could express her imagination freely.
She also loved to, and still does, paint or draw individual pictures for people who appreciate her thoughtfulness and intuitive expression.
Stella is a people person and loves to share her gifts joyfully. At a young age she learnt to play the violin, mostly by ear. She also likes to sing and dance.
When she left school she had some painting lessons at Archibalds Art Shop in Upper Hutt and really enjoyed that. She mostly painted in acrylics at that time and did representational paintings of objects.
She is now flatting at the Dawn Trust in Lower Hutt and has been able to have art classes with Irena Stenner for a few years. She paints in water colour, acrylic and water based oils.
Stella gains her inspiration from her imagination, surroundings, films, shows and books. She has a keen love of nature and her paintings often have a nature, people and spiritual focus. She is also drawn to mythological themes.
In the last five years she has been involved with the Dawn Trust, she has exhibited her work twice at the Dawn Trust and once at the Hutt Hospital cafe with other Dawn Trust artists.
Stella comes from an artistic family and receives lots of encouragement with her artistic talents.
